This place has all the right vibes : good kabobs, chinese style, intense BBQ flavor, corn on the skewer, beef, lamb, lots of veggies , the cauliflower and okra were so good. We also got the snow crab plate (which comes with shrimps, potato, sausage (we ordered medium spicy garlic butter, it was so good). Great service. The best part were the drinks: Jian Li Bao (such good orange flavor), youzi cha, ceylon vita with vodka, bailey's and wang wang milk was such a good combo. So satisfied Self service trash can and paper towel, the cleaning lady was super nice too.

Came here for a girls' night out with my group of 5. The space is not huge, but there was plenty of air circulation and I dug the mix of neon and kitschy decorations. The staff was not the most attentive; they walked by us several times and forgot our requests. I had to ask for more cups and soju shot glasses twice. I preferred talking to the girl working by the window and delivering food because she was the nicest. Always double check your sticks because we had a few missing throughout our meal. Out of all my skewer experiences, this place was the best in terms of portion size. The meat is hefty! For $50 per person, we were satisfied with the food we got as well as a beer tower and soju cocktail. Some skewers I liked: lamb, beef, pork belly, chicken gizzard, intestines with garlic, squid tentacles, silkworms, and bean curd. The soy sauce fried rice and the potato fried rice looked the same despite having different pictures in the menu. They are only slightly different in terms of flavor; I think the potato fried rice had a bit more spice and was a bit saltier. The jellyfish salad was tasty and it came with cucumbers too. For improvements, I wish the soju cocktail didn't have so much ice. All in all, the flavors were good and we had a nice experience. Just wish the service was more attentive and friendly.

The food here is full of addicting flavors but runs on the saltier and oily side. Came here to celebrate a birthday and it was really lively with cyberpunk vibes. We ordered a plethora of skewers and some other dishes on the menu. Everything was really tasty but the portions are a bit small for the price. I personally really enjoyed their snow crab seafood combo A, which comes with one snow crab leg cluster, some shrimp, corn, potato, egg and sausage. It was like a delicious seafood boil with an asian flair. So tasty but super salty and oily. All the skewers were on par with other skewer places in the bay. Service was the bare minimum. Didn't check up on us and did not provide any tools to help crack the crab legs until we asked. I will say that it was really packed when we went so they could have just been too busy. But the food is good and shareable, so I'm willing to come back!

Gao's is one of the few late-night spots in the East Bay that stay open until 2am every day. They're located in a plaza with plenty of parking in the lot. The restaurant front looks pretty unassuming and dark, but once you walk in you're immediately teleported into an Asian nightmarket street scene with really cool neon light signs and well-known Asian music playing. It's the perfect setting for friends or a date night. The table settings are pretty basic - paper and plastic utensils, along with a warming tray for your skewers to chill on, sunflower seeds to munch on, and a pitcher of water. You can access the menu by scanning a QR code and add things to your cart. Orders for your table will be added together when you pay your check at the front counter. Kids may be picky eaters (especially around meats/seafood). There is a free chicken tender, fries, and Yakult meal available for them. Overall, the pricing is okay but it certainly adds up because you don't get full off of a few skewers. All skewers had the same flavored seasoning so there wasn't much variation other than the texture of the food. My favorites were the beef tongue, bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms, big lamb, and pork skewers. The 12 small beef skewers sounded like a good deal, but they are truly really small pieces of beef. All the beef skewers were more tougher meat texture which wasn't as enjoyable. One thing the servers didn't check was to ensure the warming tray was on because it didn't keep any of our skewers warm and we ended up eating some cold. Some things to note: When coming in a large group, try to screenshot your order ahead of time because it can be confusing once the skewers come out. We had to ask the server what they were bringing to us each time because most of the meats looked so similar in order to ensure everyone got what they ordered. It would be nice if their system showcased what each person ordered based on the phone that placed it, so be ready to figure this out. We didn't try any of the non-skewer items so that may be something to try next time; however, skewers are more the preference. This spot is the perfect place to kick back with some drinks, eat small plates, and chill on a late night.
